Maybe it's the kid in me, but as expensive as some of those pieces of plastic are that come with various videogames' collector and special editions, I still love 'em. While I'm sure a lot of people are more than happy to simply play the game, I just love having the assorted statues and replicas litter my game room. Respawn Entertainment has quite the impressive collectible to offer in its collector's edition of Titanfall, an almost 2 ft tall replica of the the titular mechs you'll be able to pilot in the game. It's truly an impressive looking creation, but good luck finding space for this behemoth, especially if you're a collector. The company has a new video out, giving fans a better look at it (and no doubt helping the number of pre-orders climb). Check it out below.
Truly fancy, the titan it also features batter-powered LED lighting, and for something to read by the firefly styled glow, there's also a 190 page full-size art book chock full of concept art, and a poster schematic of the Atlas titan.
Nothing in life is free, and if you want this edition, be prepared. The collector's edition of Titanfall weighs in at a pricey $249.99, roughly half the cost of Microsoft's next-gen console the game is set to release on.
Titanfall, Respawn's debut title, sees players fighting either on foot as free-running pilots or inside powerful mech-style walkers called Titans to complete team-based objectives, and with a heavy, hi-tech arsenal. While the game only supports multiplayer gameplay, Respawn has done just enough to introduce single-player elements like plot, character conversation, and evennon-playable characters in matches.
"In Titanfall, many generations of humanity live in the deepest reaches of explored space. This vast region is known as The Frontier. It contains many well-known and inhabited solar systems, but many more worlds remain uncharted," reads the description on the game's official page.
"Most people will never travel this far away from normal civilization. But for pioneers, explorers, mercenaries, outlaws, and soldiers - the Frontier offers both adventure and opportunity."
Players can expect Titanfall on PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One when it launches March 11 stateside and March 13 in Europe.
