Trine 2: Complete Story, Frozenbyte and Atlus’ upcoming side-scrolling puzzle platformer, has now been given the greenlight to arrive as a launch title for the PlayStation 4, out now.
Confirmed via the official PlayStation blog, a brand new trailer for the game (see below) has also been revealed showing off some new skills that will arrive alongside the Complete Story version of the game.
It also adds that there are a total of 20 levels “full of adventure,” with several different in-game sceneries “ranging from lush forests to a scorching hot desert, and the insides of a gigantic sandworm — even isles floating in the sky.”
Trine 2: Complete Story has also been confirmed to support DualShock 4′s touch pad, making a number of elements for the gameplay as intuitive as possible. “An example of this is drawing boxes or planks with the wizard, and moving them around and interacting with the environment.”
As far as the technical side of the game is concerned, Trine 2 will run at an impressive HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. “It’s truly a sight to see, and what’s more is that we’re also one of the few games at launch with stereoscopic 3D support. So remember to fire up your 3D TV’s, put on your glasses, and enjoy the visual splendor,” the post adds.
Trine 2: Complete Story, “a side-scrolling game of action, puzzles and platforming” as described in the game's official page, will allow players to step into the boots of the Three Heroes: the Thief, the Wizard, and the Knight, who make their way through extreme and unpredictable dangers in a fantastical fairytale world.
“The game features an exciting adventure full of action, including physics-based puzzles using fire, water, gravity and magic; wicked goblins as the heroes adversaries; and a magical environment full of wonder,” the page further states.
The game is now available in North America for $19.99, and will also offer online and local co-op for up to three players with the option to save the game anywhere in as many short sessions the player wants. Check out the trailer below.
