Xbox One Release Date, Specs, Games, Price, Tech: Microsoft Shows Off Xbox One's Dashboard [VIDEO]

Microsoft Shows How the Xbox One's Dashboard Works, and What it Can Do

We've seen video and pictures of the user interface for Sony's PlayStation 4, but now, it's the Xbox One's turn. We've only gotten scant information about the console's dashboard, and mostly from other parties. However, Microsoft has put together a demo video highlighting the next-gen console's dashboard, showing off a collection of the apps and features it has to offer, and how things work. By no means is it as good as the real thing, but it'll give you a good idea what it will be like once the Xbox One is finally in your living room.

Microsoft's Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi and Corporate Vice President of Xbox Live Marc Whitten play the part of narrator and presenters for the video. Facial recognition via Kinect 2, voice recognition, customization options, there's a whole lot jammed into this video. At 12 minutes, some of you might find it a bit hard to sit still throughout the entire video, but it's worth a watch. Check it out below.

Microsoft's Xbox One launches on Nov. 22, and will be available in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, UK, and the United States for $499.

The new console claims an 8-core x86 processor and Microsoft hopes it will take the place of the family room cable box by letting you watch Blu-ray movies and TV through the console, in a "seamless transition" that lets players switch from playing games to watching shows and/or movies. It will come fully loaded with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

The following games offered at launch include Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, FIFA 14, Killer Instinct, Ryse: Son of Rome, and more. You can check out a list of the install sizes for all of the launch games here.

A cross-country tour where Microsoft is demoing the system at various locations is already underway, and demo kiosks have begun arriving at certain retailers.
