Attention all paranoid preppers readying themselves for the zombie apocalypse, your soundtrack for slashing and bashing the rotting, undead, hungry horde is slated to arrive later this month. A press release clued us in that Sumthing Else Music Works is launching the original soundtrack for Dead Rising 3 as a digital download on iTunes, Amazon.com, and other music sites later this month, November 19.
Sumthing has worked with a slew of other developers in addition to Capcom, like BioWare, Crytek, Deep Silver, Gearbox Software, Konami, Sega, Square-Enix and others. Their catalog of titles includes the best-selling video game soundtrack of all time, Halo 2: Volume One, as well as award-winning and critically acclaimed titles including Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Tomb Raider, Journey, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the Gears of War series, Mass Effect, and many more.
For you zombie loving music buffs that prefer something tangible, good things come to those who wait, as a two disc physical edition of the album will be released on November 26.
But the crown jewel can only be achieved by those who buy from Sumthing.com directly, which is offering an expanded 99-track version of the album. That's a lot of zombie killing beats. As a bonus, and a taste of things to come, Sumthing Else and Capcom are giving away 10 tracks, which can be downloaded for free from Sumthing.com.
If you liked the tunes of the last Dead Rising games, you should enjoy the third, because master producer Oleksa Lozowchuk is again behind it all as the soundtrack's Producer and Composer. "Dead Rising 3's soundtrack mashes up classic horror, dirty synths and the '80s," said Oleksa Lozowchuk in the release. "Blend in a dose of craziness from the city of Los Perdidos to contrast the visceral pulse of survival horror, and you end up right at home, in the world of Dead Rising."
Additional music is also provided by various artists such as Traz Damji, Sascha Dikiciyan, Brian Reitzell, Celldweller, Jeremy Soule, Julian Soule, Ashtar Command, and Dave Genn.
Set 10 years after the events of Fortune City in Dead Rising 2, Dead Rising 3 takes place in the vast city of the Beverley Hills inspired Los Perdidos amid a nationwide zombie outbreak that's on the brink of decimating mankind. The story follows a young mechanic, Nick Ramos, who must find a way to escape a city full of thousands of bloodthirsty zombies before an impending military strike wipes the city and everyone in it off the map. In his escape, Nick must join up with other survivors to stay alive and fight their way out before it's too late.
Available exclusively for Xbox One, Dead Rising 3 promises an immersive open-world experience, intense action, unmatched character and weapon customization, and will delivers a heart-pounding experience unlike any other. The game will be available as a launch title when the Xbox One releases later this month.
