‘Arrow' Season 5 Midseason Premiere Spoilers: Laurel Lance Returns As Black Siren?

The midseason finale of "Arrow" Season 5 ended with a cliffhanger---Laurel Lance is back. Episode 9, "What We Leave Behind," saw Oliver Queen's dead girlfriend alive and well. However, is the resurrected Laurel Black Canary or Black Siren?

Apparently, the writers and producers have more plans in store for Laurel Lance. Fans will know what these plans are starting from the midseason premiere of "Arrow" Season 5. Executive producer Wendy Mericle revealed to TV Guide back in October, that Laurel or Katie Cassidy returns in the second half of the season, in Episode 10 to be exact.

The midseason premiere of "Arrow" Season 5 will reveal why and how Laurel Lance resurrected from the dead. Mericle teased that Flashpoint has something to do with Laurel Lance's return. If this is the case, it is likely that Oliver Queen's ex-fiancée is not the same Laurel.

The person who stood before Oliver in "Arrow" Season 5 Episode 9 could be Black Siren and not Black Canary. This is likely since Flashpoint brought her back from the dead. Viewers already know by now that Flashpoint has some adverse effects on the Arrowverse. Caitlin became Killer Frost, Diggle lost her daughter and so on....so it is a very convincing theory to believe that Laurel has returned as Black Siren.

Regardless, Team Arrow will eventually find out the truth about Laurel Lance's return. Stephen Amell (Oliver Green) addressed her appearance in the midseason finale of "Arrow" Season 5 in a recent Facebook chat. He said the midseason premiere delves into her resurrection, although he hinted that it is Black Canary who returns and not Black Siren.

"Obviously people don't just come back from the dead, so there has to be some sort of vetting process to make sure that it is Laurel because the group has seen some peculiar things," Amell said in the video below.
