Given that 2017 will be Apple Inc's 10th year anniversary in iPhone-manufacturing, the stakes are getting understandably higher for the next iconic entry. And while everyone is now highlighting on how groundbreaking iPhone 8 is going to be with its game-changing features and specifications, people have been even more thrilled when news have circulated that not only the Cupertino-based firm is planning to release refresh hardware variants of iPhone 7, but is also tipped to go red.
According to a report from MacOtakara, Apple is en route to releasing iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus in the last months of 2017. In addition, a red version is expected to be introduced in any of these variations. The same publication has shared that the variants are also pegged to come with the same aluminum design and will look quite identical to that of iPhone 7. Meanwhile, these variants may arrive after the heavily speculated iPhone 8.
Citing a Taiwanese supplier in its blog, it is said that iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus will also look similar to that of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, sans the headphone jack. If this turns out to be legitimate, then Apple would have been applying the same aesthetics for four iPhone generations.
Now while MacOtakara has been known to be a reliable leakster of anything Apple, the latest development is a far cry from previous rumors which indicated that Apple was planning to skip the "7S" entirely and would be proceeding straight to iPhone 8. Further, the rumors have stressed that the company would be overhauling the design, ditching some of the most enduring buttons and sensors externally.
As such, the Japanese website has also leaked rather accurately the add-on colors for iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s — notably the rose gold and jet black color variants. The red variant shouldn't be much of a shocker for the tech giant as the company has already released the popular iPhone 5C before which sported five color variants: Blue, Pink, Green, White and Yellow -- all of which were encased in a shiny, plastic body. Moreover, iPhone 8 may also be coming with a different color variant if these should be taken as an indication.
On the other hand, Apple's iPhone 8 has already been generating more than its usual fair share of speculated specifications. One of the more surfacing features is that Apple may go OLED with 4K resolution on the forthcoming entry. Other features also include an edge-to-edge version, a more water-resistant functionality, and a curved, no-bezels display.
