The Golden State Warriors have the best record in the NBA and they could be breaking NBA records this season once again. However, Klay Thompson is still being linked with plenty of trade rumors and head coach made sure that everyone knows the two-time All-Star is not going anywhere.
The team being linked with Thompson is the Boston Celtics. It started when former Celtic great Brian Scalabrine said on his radio show that the Celtics might acquire the All-Star shooting guard, per Mass Live. However, Steve Kerr and Warriors GM Bob Myers put an end to it.
"I wish there was a little bit more discipline because you know what it causes -- I gotta talk to Klay Thompson. I gotta talk to his agent," Myers said on 95.7 The Game, via CSN Bay Area.
"We're not trading Klay, that's the short answer. I don't know what else you want to talk about," he added.
And on Wednesday, Kerr made sure that everyone knows Klay Thompson is not going to Boston. It happened after the team's shootaround on Wednesday in Los Angeles.
"We're not trading him to Boston. Just thought I'd throw that in there," Kerr said.
The Warriors are on a roll as of late with Thompson exploding for 60 points against the Indiana Pacers. It showed that Golden State is fine with their roster. The chemistry seems to be coming along and there is no need to trade one of their four All-Stars.
In the historic game against the Pacers, Thompson scored all of his points in just 29 minutes. He could have gone for 80 points of more if the game was not a blowout. Kerr sat him in the fourth quarter with fans wondering if he would have broken Kobe Bryant's 81-point game.
Golden State is currently 20-3 which is the best record in the NBA. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement which means the team might pull a trade for a defensive big man at the trade deadline.
