More shots from Capcom's upcoming zombie frag-fest Dead Rising 3 have sneaked out, giving us a peek at the latest crop of psychos, not to mention a few other sights to behold on this Xbox One exclusive.
First up, let's have a look at who I can only presume is Shifu (seen above), the gardener who's taking solace from the zombie apocalypse just outside by tending to his zen garden.
Each of Dead Rising 3's psychos is meant to embody a different biblical sin. With the amount of satisfaction Shifu takes in his garden, it's easy to assume his sin would be pride, but should players trample any of his plants, they'll quickly discover that Shifu represents Wrath.
Given what's going on in the new setting of Los Perdidos, it's fairly obvious that all the red splattered over Shifu's outfit and face isn't paint, meaning that protagonist Nick likely isn't the first to stumble into Shifu's garden, be they living or dead. Armed with a wicked bladed staff and some high flying kicks, Shifu is obviously a force to be reckoned with.
Next up, we have the astronaut Diego.
There's not much to be said about Diego, save from what can be inferred about the pictures. But one thing's for sure, he'll be an interesting psycho to fight.
His suit comes equipped with thrusters which allow Diego to take to the skies, meaning players will probably have to resort to ranged attacks to bring him back down to Earth in a body bag. Good thing Nick has that shotgun, but who knows if Diego has some kind of extra armor in that spacesuit?
The first psycho revealed was a plastic surgeon who had apparently become a bit twisted after too much cosmetic surgery. He had also taken to collecting patients' fingers in a necklace, as well as their various bling. With his taste for gaudy jewlery, the surgeon is a celar cut representation of greed.
We haven't yet seen any other psychos, but here's what we know about them:
* Jerry - The end of the world as you know it is no doubt disheartening, but hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, even if she looks a bit..."mannish." Jerry is a female wrestler and bodybuilder, upset that her competition has been canceled due to the whole society crumbling thing. Protagonist Nick meets Jerry at a gym, no doubt perfecting her physique, only to still be mistaken as a man by our hero. This apparently pisses Jerry off, who comes at Nick with everything she's got. It's unconfirmed, but given her desire to be considerably more masculine, Jerry could represent envy.
* Trent - The gamer/spoiled rich kid stereotype is in full effect with Trent, a man child who's content to ride out the zombie war by playing videogames away in his mansion. Nick apparently finds him surrounded by empty soda cans and potato chip bags. The bit about chip bags and soda screams gluttony, but with Trent being a lazy good for nothing, sloth is also a strong possibility.
* Lastly, an unnamed motorcycle leader also joins the party, and is quick to revel in the anarchy the zombie outbreak has brought forth. True, players have fought a biker before, but this isn't the slicecycle riding speedster, this biker's vehicle of choice is closer to a steamroller, decked out in body parts for that Martha Stewart touch.
Dead Rising 3 takes place ten years after the events of Fortune City in Dead Rising 2. The story follows a young mechanic named Nick Ramos and his attempt to survive a massive zombie outbreak in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California. Ramos must team up with other survivors and find a way to escape Los Perdidos before an impending military strike wipes out the city and its inhabitants. It will be available as a launch title when the Xbox One releases later this month.
