WhatsApp has added features to its Android application that was previously seen in its beta version. The popular messenger platform keeps getting better as it continues to compete with other messenger platforms.
WhatsApp has over one million users in over 180 countries and the number still continues to rise as it thrives on providing its user a better experience communicating to friends and family. However, there are features that the messenger is lacking compared to other available messenger apps.
Fortunately, WhatsApp added features that will make the experience of chatting even better. Video streaming is one the added features in WhatsApp. Previously, WhatsApp user will need to wait for the video to download completely before they could play and watch it. The recent update allows the user to stream the videos while it is in the process of downloading, so it will be saved on the user's device.
Here's the catch, according to the Indian Express, the video streaming feature of WhatsApp is only available for Android 4.1 version and above. The users will also need to update their WhatsApp messenger to the latest version.
Another added feature in WhatsApp is the ability to edit images. The image editing feature allows the user to add text, or graphics like emoji on the photos before sending it to their friends. This feature is already out for quite a while now with other messengers which are quite useful to others, LiveMint reported.
In addition, another cool feature with WhatsApp is the GIF images. Aside from users can send and receive GIF images, they can also create their own GIF images. Short video clips can be converted to GIFs by long pressing and recording a 6-second video on WhatsApp. The editing options for creating the GIF image will automatically appear after recording your own video.
Meanwhile, despite the security issue controversy, WhatsApp messenger is the most downloaded application in iOS download charts of 2016. Along with the Facebook-owned messenger, other popular downloads in iOS are Face Swap Live, "Minecraft" and "Candy Crush Saga."
