Several fans saw it coming, but the reveal still took everyone by surprise: Keating 5's most beloved member, Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch), is revealed to be the body discovered under Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) house. Many are asking if this is a permanent thing, or there is still a possibility of him returning to the ABC series, but it looks like the odds of that happening are very slim. What should fans expect in "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3?
So now, the question remains: Will Wes Gibbins pull a Jon Snow and come back from the dead? Or will "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 and onwards have to move on from him completely?
What went down in 'HTGAWM' winter finale
After months of speculation, "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3 finally revealed that Gibbins was indeed the body under the sheet. He's been the most popular theory ever since the season premiere as Annalise was seen weeping over the body--no one else could have elicited such a powerful response in her other than her favorite student.
Terribly burned after being recovered from Annalise's burning house, there's very little hope that Wes is still alive. However, in an interview with Variety, Alfred Enoch belied claims that he tried to kill himself. He clarified that despite the many things going on in his life, he wouldn't have done it to himself. Which means that the suspect for the arson of Keating's house remains at large in "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3.
Will Wes be coming back?
Of course, the biggest question now is if Wes will remain as a series regular. He would certainly remain a part of "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 3, but mostly as part of the past timeline and flashbacks, but even Enoch could not give a definite yes or no regarding his fate. There's still a strong possibility that he is still alive, a la Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones," but the odds are pretty slim since Pete Nowalk was determined to kill someone off during "HTGAWM" Season 3.
