A Christmas update has been teased for the hit online multiplayer shooting title, "Overwatch." A teaser for the upcoming event was uploaded during on the official Twitter account of the game. The anticipated release date of the new update will fall around next week which is just in time for the holiday season.
It was stated in reports that the official account of "Overwatch" on Twitter posted a GIF of a holiday card. "It's the most wonderful time of the year, and we hope you'll join us for some holiday cheer!" read the GIF holiday card. All of the players in the game are being invited to be part of their latest Christmas update and also at the same to keep the holiday spirit up.
Based on reports, there is a possibility that the latest update of "Overwatch" will modify its existing stages by adding Christmas themes. It was actually hinted in the GIF holiday card that was tweeted where the King's Row map was covered in snow and had Christmas decorations around the houses.
Even though the official details of the latest patch have not been announced yet, there were rumors that the update of "Overwatch" will contain a Christmas-themed audio. Previously, PvP Live reported that a group of data miners were able to uncover new info for the latest update. There are suggestions that four new maps will be added, and characters such as Widowmaker, Mercy, Reinhardt, Reaper, Symmetra, Sombra, Roadhog, Soldier: 76, and Lucio may possibly have a new costume.
Meanwhile, other characters from "Overwatch" might get a new emote or a highlight intro instead, and they may be McCree, Winston, Pharah, Tracer, and Zenyatta. It is also possible that only Torbjorn will get the whole package. However, Blizzard has remained silent about the details that the data miners have released.
Aside from all the new character bonuses and stages, the Christmas update of "Overwatch" may be similar to the recent Halloween event where there are loot boxes and items that were being given away. It is anticipated that the latest update for the game will go live on December 13 for PlayStation 4. Xbox One and PC.
