"Overwatch" is getting a Christmas event and this was discovered by dataminers. It was revealed that they found four new maps and one of these looks like a holiday-themed map.
The dataminers who were trying to dig something from "Overwatch" codes think that there could be three holiday maps. However, they are not sure because the key is coded differently.
Moreover, according to the datamine, the code contains a voice lie, a holiday-themed spray, skins and victory poses similar to Junkenstein Revenge during the Halloween event. In addition, it was found that Reinhardt, Sombra, D. Va, Symmetra, Mercy, Ana, Lucio, Soldier: 76, Reaper, Roadhog and Widowmaker might be getting either new costumes or emote.
Based on the facts shared by the dataminer, the "Overwatch" Christmas event is coming on Dec. 13. It was added that the event will run for three weeks only.
On Dec. 7, it was proven that the speculations about the "Overwatch" Christmas event are true after all. The stories were confirmed when the Overwatch team posted a digital Christmas invitation on Twitter. The post says it all and it made upcoming holiday event official.
Likewise, the Dec. 13 release date of "Overwatch" Christmas event was verified through the tweet. However, fans still have to wait for announcements with regards to the exact content of the holiday update.
While the aforementioned characters are said to be getting two items for the Christmas event, the data gathered by dataminers divulged that at least one "Overwatch" character is getting three.
It was learned that Torbjörn will get three special items during the "Overwatch" holiday event. Leaks suggest that Torbjörn's Christmas costume will be something like Santa-inspired outfit.
