Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcome the 20th child in the family after the Circuit Court of Benton Country in Arkansas appointed the '19 Kids and Counting' couple as official guardian of an 8-year-old nephew. Although they were a little bit sad after Jinger Duggar bid goodbye to the family when she married her boyfriend Jeremy Vuolo in November, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar couldn't be happier after the court finally granted their plea.
The boy, son of Michelle's niece Rachel Hutchins, has been under the care of the popular Duggar couple since August when his mother was caught in trouble with the law due to financial problems. It was Carolyn, Michelle's sister, who was originally appointed as the guardian of the boy. But she suffered a stroke in July prompting the popular Duggar couple to request for custody of the boy.
The court initially granted Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar temporary guardianship in September, and it finally recognize the couple as the boy's official guardian since November 21."Jim Bob and Michelle couldn't be happier right now. Jim Bob and Michelle have made the child feel right at home. They treat him like their own and he looks up to them as parents," the source said as quoted by Gospel Herald.
The Duggar kids have also welcome the boy to the clan. The court however allowed the boy's mother, Rachel, a supervised visit. She is currently on probation after her arrest in April.Having a new boy in the family is definitely a good news for the Duggar family. More than a year ago, the couple's son Josh shocked the world after he confessed of molesting his four younger sisters.
The Duggar family suffered major blow after TLC cancelled their show '19 Kids and Counting' with major sponsors abandoning the reality TV family. TLC eventually resurrected the family show but retitled it 'Counting On' on Season 2, which premiered last August 23. The season finale showed Jinger's November 5 wedding aired on November 15 at TLC.
