It was not long ago when the PC specifications for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts was revealed showing that a required space of 50GB is essential to run the game. However, those specs were later revealed to be incorrect. Now, as promised, Infinity Ward has released the proper specifications gamers will need to play the game on PC.
While the previous release from NVIDIA showed that 10GB more space was required to play the game, the newly released specs for the game on PC via Infinity will not bring much joy to fans since 40GB is still pretty heavy in terms of storage space.
Below is the minimum PC specification required to run Call of Duty: Ghosts as per developer Infinity Ward.
- OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
- Memory: 6 GB RAM
- Hard Disk Space: 40 GB
- Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
- Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
- DirectX: DirectX 11
- Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer.
While we are seeing a trend in how games nowadays require huge spaces to run compared to what they required a couple of years back, it seems like it won't be long before fans start re-considering their hardware, or possibly even shift to console gaming.
Considering the fact that the game requires this much space on PC to run as part of its “minimum” specifications chart, it’s likely that the download size for the game’s versions on consoles will be similar to their PC counterpart. However, neither Activision nor developer Infinity Ward has yet revealed any related information.
“Ten years after a devastating mass event, the nation's borders and the balance of global power have been redrawn forever. As what's left of the nation's Special Operations forces, a mysterious group known only as ‘Ghosts’ leads the fight back against a newly emerged, technologically-superior global power,” states a description from the game's official page.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is scheduled to hit PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on Nov. 5, with the game also being a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on their respective launch dates later that month.
