Sam Heughan's role as Jamie has been through a tough battle at the Culloden during the tail end of "Outlander" Season 2. During this time Claire has already traveled in the present time to escape the battle. He admitted that he almost got an accident during the fight scenes, though it wasn't further explained by the reports.
According to Diana Gabaldon's book, Jamie's memory has been traumatized and received fractures right after the battle in "Outlander" Season 3. Speculations has it that this cause him to forget Claire and married another woman. He married the woman whose in love with him for such a long time, GamenGuide wrote.
Meanwhile, according to reports, more romantic scenes will be featured on the upcoming season as Heughan teases fans. He also added that "Outlander" Season 3 will deviate from Diana Gabaldon's book. At the start of the series will show how the Highlanders faces their inevitable destruction.

Though Heughan didn't share broader information about the battle and even the crew didn't get any clues as to what may possibly come in the series. He added that more surprises awaits the fans and there will also be great moments that fans look forward to.

Also, presumptions of Jamie and Claire getting separated for 20 years is expected as well. There will as well be a big time jump that will happen this time after Claire's looked aging, while Jamie stays hunk.
