For those who have, unfortunately, you have to say goodbye to one show more due to the mid-season break. But don’t worry on January 23 the second half of the comedy continues with a lot going on after the cliffhanger you witnessed.
According to Romper, fans are confused after the twist they witnessed and have a lot of questions, one among the other is who are Rafael’s real parents? It looks like Rafael is adopted from Italy, so what does that mean for him, will he claim the Solano fortune now that the truth is out? Another unclear twist, Catalina was accused by Jane of being up to something when she saw rolls of cash and jewels in Catalina’s bag, but after Catalina explained everything to Jane, she felt guilty for accusing her. However, towards the end of the episode, you saw Catalina open her door to a mysterious French man, is she up to something?
According to The Celebrity Café, in the episode “Chapter Fifty-One,” Alba (Ivonne Coll) is makeing Jane (Gina Rodriguez) feel guilty for not attending church while Jane decides she wants to bring Mateo to church against Rafael's (Justin Baldoni) wishes because she started to doubt in her beliefs. Rafael unlocks a long lost memory of him and his mother. Meanwhile, Jane's cousin is starting to wear out her welcome.
According to AV. Club, in episode “Chapter Fifty-One,” the camera angles made the episode even more dramatic and imaginative. When Jane’s phone fails to send a warning text to Rafael, the camera switches to the overhead God’s-eye-view shot that Hitchcock was very fond of just before Jane is about to come clean about the growing distance between herself and God. This is a very meaningful story, Jane is insisting about getting Mateo in a church at his young age because she has doubts about her own faith.
