NBA Latest News & Updates: Chris Bosh Will Have To Wait Until the '17-'18 for NBA Return, If He Becomes Healthy

Chris Bosh's career have been cut short the past two seasons because of a blood clot. This season, he has yet to suit up for the Miami Heat, or any other team, although team president Pat Riley has already hinted that Bosh's time in Miami is done.

On December 15, all NBA players that signed a contract in the offseason become eligible to be traded, including Chris Bosh. However, with his two failed physical test for blood clots, it is highly unlikely any team will take the risk of trading for him unless a team (the other 29 teams in the league) doctor clears him to play but that too is highly unlikely.

Chris Bosh is under contract for nearly $76 million, all guaranteed, over the next three years with the Heat. If he plays before the February 9 trade deadline, which would be for another team, and he appears in at least 25 games in the regular season and/or playoffs, the Heat will have to pay him all that money. If they waived Bosh and apply for an exception to waive hi, the Heat will gain more cap space ($23.6 million) next season.

In a 5-part installment of Uninterrupted.com, Chris Bosh expressed that he wants to return to the NBA once his healthy. "I want my children to know that daddy was a fighter and he just didn't give up very easily," Bosh said. If he walks away now, he'll still get paid a good chunk of the money that the Heat owes him but claims that basketball is "just what I've been placed here to do."

Chris Bosh keeps doing basketball workouts while he waits to be cleared by doctors to resume NBA activities. If he can become healthy again, many teams will certainly offer him a deal. Although he's already 32, his skill set fits well with how today's game is played where big men are expanding their game beyond the 3-point line.
