In the past five seasons of "Arrow", the flashback lets viewers know what happened to Oliver Queen and how he became the vigilante he is now, before he arrived in Star Ctiy. The flashbacks has played an integral role to the series' present time situation.
It's been five years and showrunner Marc Guggenheim has revealed some plans on what is going to happen to the flashbacks in "Arrow" Season 5 Finale.
In "Arrow" Season 5 Finale, the final flashback of Oliver Queen will discovers a boat that rescued him during the pilot episode of the CW show. "Spoiler alert. That's going to end up being the Season 5 finale," said Marc Guggenheim in an interview with TV Line, while the show has not been renewed for a sixth season but it's more likely to be.
"Look, we have some incredibly clear plans for what we want to do in the Season 5 finale, At the same time, we always leave ourselves room to be like, '...and throw this cliffhanger in, throw that twist in," continued Guggenheim for his plans for the "Arrow" Season 5 Finale. The "Arrow" executive producer also revealed that he wanted to continue doing the flashbacks but to extend them "artificially".
Over the past five seasons, "Arrow" has created a lot changes to some characters like Felicity Smoak who was supposedly just a recurring character on Arrow but now plays a major role for "Arrow" Season 5 Finale. One of the most shocking twists on the show was Laurel Lance aka Black Canary's unexpected death since the Black Canary is the love interest of the "Green Arrow" in the DC Comics series.
"Arrow" has also expanded its universe creating spin off shows like "The Flash" where Barry Allen was first seen in "Arrow" season 2 and "Legends of Tomorrow" where "Arrow" characters Sara Lance and Ray Palmer are one of the major heroes of the show. "Arrow" Season 5 Finale will possibly air sometime on May 2017 which stars Stephen Amell, Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey and Willa Holland.
