Perhaps one of the busier figures in Hollywood now is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Not only did his Herculean physique catapulted the nation but he is also a massive cash cow — ultimately heralding him as the biggest earner of this year, besting regulars such as Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. Starring in almost all blockbusters there are at the moment, like the recently released "Moana," the upcoming "Fast 8" and "Central Intelligence," Johnson could just be the actor to watch out for in 2017. His latest entry? "Jumanji 2."
The reimagined American fantasy-adventure film which was first released in 1995, "Jumanji 2" or "Jumanji" is just one of his forthcoming gigs in the upcoming year. To jazz up the said film, Dwayne Johnson has revealed to his millions of fans via his official Instagram account a picture of a purported fighting scene in the upcoming film which couldn't be quite perused with its context.
Luckily, the professional wrestler had this caption to share for the fans of "Jumanji 2", "This bad man is an a----le and I must throw him thru this cement pillar. My hand strength is like vice grips... he has no choice. For the record, this man is roughly 6'8 and well over 350lbs - he's massive and mean - I must run away now and preserve my health. #OnSet #MySaturdayNights #KnuckleUp" #StuntBrotherLuv #Jumanji" Doin' dirt with my stunt brothers tonight. Rehearsals before the bodies hit the floor...I'm searching for a good spot to break his leg with one shot. This scene also looks like what happens when too many drugs are taken at a party. Just say no. #OnSet #HowISpendMySaturdayNights #FightNight #Jumanji"
While this definitely is exciting in itself, no details about the plot of "Jumanji 2" have been disclosed. Rumors point though that upcoming film's plot lines will center on a 12-year old boy who was trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 45 years later. Further, the film may also hover on four teenagers who will be stuck in the "Jumanji" world.
Alongside Johnson, "Jumanji 2" will also star Kevin Hart (Moose Finbarr), Jack Black (Professor Shelly Oberon), Karen Gillan (Ruby Roundhouse) and Nick Jonas in an unnamed role. There is no word yet whether the original stars like Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce or Patricia Clarkson will make a cameo. Meanwhile, the reimagined film will also honor the late Robin Williams who starred as Alan Parrish in the original film.
"Jumanji 2" is scheduled to bow in theaters on Dec. 22, 2017. It is set to be rendered in 2D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D.
