Jake Roche, lead vocalist of British band "Rixton" has broken up with girlfriend "Little Mix" singer Jesy Nelson, Roche's mother, Coleen Nolan has confirmed on ITV. Despite their split, Roche and Nelson remain friends and their separation was done amicably.
"It's amicable, and they are both dealing with it really well," Coleen was quoted as saying during a discussion on "Loose Women," "They are good friends," Coleen quipped, insisting that the former couple are on good terms. The confirmation came after Jesy Nelson, who competed on the eight series of "The X Factor" United Kingdom version in 2011, offered tips to ladies who are also nursing a broken heart, saying "crying it out" was helpful.
In "Loose Women" panel discussion, the topic was about marriage putting pressure on relationships, and the Roche-Nelson split was cited as an example.
"With Jake and Jesy, when they first got engaged, instantly all the press-everyone was asking me, 'when's the wedding?' There is so much pressure on the relationships," Nolan explained during the "Loose Women" discussion via The Mirror United Kingdom.
It can be recalled that Jake Roche proposed marriage to Jesy Nelson in July 2015 at the Manchester Arena. Roche was on his knee while holding out the engagement ring to Nelson. Ed Sheeran was on a side of the stage, serenading the two. And as expected of a newly engaged, Nelson was ecstatic. It was said that their engagement followed a celebration when "Little Mix" earned their first number 1 track after 2012.
Roche was only 23 then and Nolan was 24. But despite their engagement, both artists did not have time to be together to plan on their wedding due to their busy and conflicting schedule. Notwithstanding that however, the two remained happy being engaged.
But 18 months have passed and the news the fans received was confirmation that Jake Roche and Jesy Nolan called it quits.
