After years of waiting, "The Last of Us: Part II" is finally announced. Previously tagged as "The Last of Us 2," the game is rumored to arrive in 2018. Now, it looks like Sony has made the plans readily announced its development at the recent PlayStation Experience. Unfortunately, original director Bruce Straley will not helm the new "The Last of Us: Part II".
According to the Gamespot, Straley decided to get a much needed break after launching two blockbuster games mainly "The Last of Us" and "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." Fortunately, co-director Neil Druckmann will direct "The Last of Us: Part II" and promises to deliver a great game. During the PSX event, Druckmann shared his plans for the game; his insights revealed during the early stage of development.
Meanwhile, Druckmann also pleaded to fans who were doubting the success of "The Last of Us: Part II" to have faith on the studio. He disclosed that, the studio spent gruelling hours studying the concept of the game. Fans' concerns were also taken into consideration saying "You have to understand we feel all those things as well. No one loves these characters more than we do and we would not do this if we didn't feel like we had the right idea."
"The Last of Us: Part II" is a sequel to the original; any unfinished stories will be addressed, only this time Ellie will be the main character. Druckmann said, the game is about the two characters mainly Ellie and Joel and no matter how much he tried to put a different concept, it just didn't work.
