The Season 7 premiere of "The Walking Dead" had a strong opening. However, the viewership of zombie shows gradual declines and the total viewers on its sixth episode aired Nov. 27, 2016 was only 14.3 million.
"The Walking Dead" is a cable show and the 14.3 million viewers are very large for that kind of show. However, AMC show revealed that there is a drop-off of viewers since the number of viewers fall back the same on the second half of Season 3 in 2013 according to Gamespot.
It is almost four years lower than it has been. The season 1 premiere of "The Walking Dead" reached more than 17 million viewers. In the first episode of season 6, it was revealed who Negan killed using his wire-wrapped baseball bat.
On Dec. 4, 2016, episode 7 of "The Walking Dead" was premiered. No viewership figure that has been revealed yet. Showrunner Scott Gimple will be back on the eighth season of "The Walking Dead". It is scheduled to launch on the late 2017 which will be composed of 10 episodes.
The viewers of episode 7 of season 7 were only 10.4 million according to Concord Pad. It is 7 million lower than the viewers of "The Walking Dead" season 7 premiere. Despite of this "The Walking Dead" is still the highest rated show on cable for seven years.
Even if the show reaches 10 million on its season 3, it is still spawned for five more seasons. However, there are fans who will be leaving the show due to numerous reasons as they posted on different internet sections.
The viewers are frustrated when their favorite character Glenn of Abraham died. Some fans are seeing the show too violent. After the premiere of Season 7 the ratings started to decline. "The Walking Dead" airs every Sunday on AMC at 9:00 p.m. ET.
