The case of assaulting Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianotti) has gone too far that Karev's life in Grey's Anatomy Season 13 evolved around courtrooms and lawyers.
Having been demoted and instructed to work at the Denny Duquette Clinic, the situation seem like a dead end to the pediatrician. Nevertheless, there's still Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), who continues to encourage him to stay strong amidst his difficult situation. In "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Part 1, Alex Karev is about to agree on a plea bargain agreement that will send him to prison in exchange of Jo (Camilla Luddington) not testifying in court.
It's a subtle reminder that love still dominates Alex and Jo's relationship. But Meredith reminds Karev, that it should not end this way, and he should be able to fight in order to keep the doctors intact. The end of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Part 1 suggests, Karev will consider Meredith's plea.
