Revealing "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" to the gaming community was one of the highlights during the PlayStation Experience (PSX) 2016. A trailer was released alongside its announcement and it showcased a new Marvel character that will be part of the game's roster. Aside from that, new features will also be included in the upcoming title.
PSX 2016 has recently concluded this past weekend from Dec. 3-4 at Anaheim, California, and one of the biggest reveals during the event was "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite." It is reported that the developers for the latest installment of the "Marvel vs. Capcom" franchise have utilized Unreal Engine 4. This indicates that the upcoming sequel will have better graphics than its predecessors.
A trailer was also launched to promote "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" and it showed four characters battling each other. The two fighters from Capcom are Mega Man X and Ryu while the Marvel side was represented by Iron Man and Captain Marvel. It is the first time that Mega Man X will be part of the game's roster and the same goes with Captain Marvel. At the end of the teaser, it appears that the main villain of the title was revealed, and it seems to be Thanos.
Based on reports, two more characters were unveiled during the Capcom Cup that took place this past weekend as well, and it was announced with a gameplay trailer. Moreover, it was revealed that Captain America and Morgana will be part of the roster of "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite."
Aside from the new characters, the more details of the new features was posted on the PlayStation Blog. Most of the battles in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be 2v2 instead of the 3v3 fights that took place in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3." The game modes that will be included are Training, Mission, and Arcade. A brand new story mode will also be offered as well and it will deepen the lore of the "Marvel vs. Capcom" universe.
There will also be online features for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite." With this, ranked and casual matches, global leaderboards, and online lobbies with spectator mode will be included. There is a possibility that the online community of the new game will be more active. The newest feature of the game will also include the Infinity Stones that signifies power, space, time, reality, soul, and mind. Each of the Infinity Stones will have a unique purpose, and they can also change the tides of a battle.
There is no definite release date yet for "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," but it is anticipated to arrive in 2017. Even though it has not been announced yet, it may be playable for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
