The latest episode of "Dragonball Super" is here and as expected it is once again a slice of life as suppose to the slam bang fist to cuffs action that the series is primarily known for. This episode contains all the action and more as it serves not only as a nice homage to the show's comedic roots but it was also a crossover to some degree as Arale makes a rare appearance.
This week's episode of "Dragonball Super" starts off with Bulma up for a scientific invention award, but the honor ends up going to Norimaki Senbei (Dr. Slump) with his invention called Reality Machine Number 2. It is a living pot with the capacity to manifest the strongest desire of its user out of thin air, utilizing nothing but the user's imagination.
However, in true "Dragonball Super" fashion, things are not going so smoothly as the ghost of Dr. Slump's rival, Dr. Mashirito appears to interrupt the festivities, having drugged Arale with a formula increasing her desire to play one hundred times. This is bad news since she is a gag character with insanely superhuman strength. It is up to Goku and Vegeta to keep her occupied until she calms down. All efforts has come to no avail as Vegeta was sent flying by the toddler and a girl at that.
The second half of this episode of "Dragonball Super" is crazy and wild to say the least, as it seemed to adapt more of Arale's universe. This is depicted by characters seemingly breaking the fourth wall as shown by Vegeta as he says that Arale herself does not follow the rules of physics. This thought is further reinforced as she was able to trade blows with Son Goku who has been shown to have the capacity to destroy galaxies and universes.
However, despite her gag nature. It seems like she cannot overcome Bills "The God of Destruction" who has been shown to destroy everything even ghost. Over all, this episode was a nice homage to Akira Toriyama and his knack for comedic moments. Fans are shouting foul as Goku and Vegeta seemed to be dumb down here, and understandably so. However, fans need to remember that this is a filler episode of "Dragonball Super" and should be treated as such.
