Following the various reports on the said issue, Apple now offers a free fix to any eligible iPhone 6s user through the company's customer support sites.
According to Apple, the problem was seen in iPhone 6s smartphones that come with a faulty battery component, which was exposed to controlled ambient air for a longer period prior to being assembled as battery packs.
