iPad, iPhone Release Date, News & Update: iCalendar Issues Acknowledged, No Fix Yet; iOS 10 Battery Also Big Problem

iOS calendar entry spam issues on both iPad and iPhone have been acknowledged by Apple after an increasing number of complaints reported through online forums and the media.  However, the tech giant seems to have no time limit on addressing the said iOS issue.

According to reports, the iCal system of Apple permits unauthenticated invites to any events to be forwarded to users, resulting in iOS users getting notifications on their iPads and iPhones to set dates to purchase items. With limited options, the majority of iOS users tend to ignore the invites and refuse to give confirmation to the spammers that the address is valid. On the other hand, other iOS users move the entries to junk calendars and delete them all together.

Given such, Apple immediately acknowledged the iOS issues and hinted at the company's first choice for remedy, working to disallow spam to reach the iCal clients. The tech giant assures  the iOS users that the company will actively work to fix the iOS issues by determining and blocking the suspicious senders and spam in the invites being sent.

For now, Apple's engineers are expected to provide enough data to easily recognize fake invites. With that, iOS users can only wait for the next iOS 10 update to add a report button for acknowledging invites, Forbes reported.

Meantime, while iOS 10 has earned strong reviews and fewer reports of issues, the recent 10.1.1 update seems to be having some problems. Based on reports, several iOS 10.1.1 users are complaining of a drastic reduction of battery life, including increased device temperature.

Part of the issue seems to be linked to battery charge monitoring, as reports indicate a 30 percent charge to 1 percent in a few seconds, which will eventually shut down. In fact, despite unplugging the device immediately, it  would still show 30 percent and will run like nothing has happened, ExtremeTech reported.
