Details turn up on the Knightfall pack for Batman: Arkham Origins

Sure, it seems like it's always Microsoft that gets a lot of extra content first, but Sony does too. Reminding us of such, Warner Bros. Montreal opened up to the PlayStation Blog on some details about the PlayStation 3 exclusive Knightfall Pack for Batman: Arkham Origins.

The pack offers up two costumes for the dark knight:

1. An old school Batsuit that's little more than a few tights, based on the campy TV show Adam West rocked before he was voicing the crazy Quahog mayor of "Family Guy." Note the menacing looking painted on eyebrows.
2. The highly customized batsuit worn by Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael) in the eponymous Knightfall story line. Valley heavily upgraded the suit during his time in the suit while Bruce sat on the sidelines recovering from his fight with Bane. In this arc, the suit would eventually sport a flame thrower, laser, and a gauntlet that shot out razor sharp batarangs. But don't count on all this weaponry appearing in Origins, the suit is for appearances only.

Here's the official blurb: "You'll fight Bane, Venom users, and Blackgate prisoners in a crime-ridden Gotham City, where Bane's forces have seized control of several key locations where only Batman can stop them. Fight your way through three combat maps, stealth across two predator maps, and push yourself to the breaking point in a new challenge campaign."

The pack also offers new maps, two for the game's Predator mode, and three separate Combat maps. You can check out a trailer below.

The game stars a younger, not as experienced Batman we've seen in past Arkham games, and has the criminal Black Mask offering a boatload of cash to whoever can kill the caped crusader. Confirmed classic characters include Penguin, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Scarecrow, Bane, Copperhead, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Firefly, the Joker, Anarky, and others.

Batman is armed with more than just his grapnel gun and batarangs. He's actually carrying a few new toys thrown in for good measure, all to help him pummel thugs throughout a Gotham city that's almost double the size of the one seen in Arkham City.

Batman: Arkham Origins launches Oct. 25 on Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. A Vita prequel, Batman: Arkham Origins - Blackgate, is also in development by Armature Studio, set to release the same day.
