This year's PlayStation Experience has unveiled a brief trailer for "Vane." The short teaser features what players should see in an endless sky when the game releases next year. The open-world adventure has made a good impression on some, while others expressed confusion.
There is not much known about Friend and Foe's "Vane" and despite the release of the new trailer, some fans are still clamoring for more details. A Destructoid contributor notes that even the game's official website seems to keep things under wraps. It is also unclear what genre the title belongs to. The biggest questions are: what will the player do and how will the story go?
"Vane" was first announced during the 2014 Tokyo Game Show. Since then, there were little or no details given about the game's development. The PSX 2016 should be the closest gaming fans have when it comes to news about the supposedly open-world adventure. There is no specific release date announced as well.
Despite the questions being raised online, IGN points out that "simplicity" brings out the best in "Vane." Some exploration games feature too many buttons for a player to stop, move forward, fly, or jump. With "Vane," the player will simply focus on controlling his flight's direction. The title is powered with an auto-system that slows down the player when he chooses to land on ground. This avoids critical crashes or landings.
The outlet further notes that "Vane" has an impressive development team behind it. Art director Rasmus Deguchi leads the way for the team. It just so happens that Deguchi has worked on "The Last Guardian" and his insights and ideas are expected to be of great help for the upcoming title. The group also has a solid foundation that features veterans from Avalanche, Guerilla, and PopCap.
"Vane" is set to fly into the PlayStation 4 sometime 2017. For now, fans can only wait and see if Friend and Foe has something very special laid out for adventurous players.
