"Supergirl," now officially part of The CW's superhero family, is currently on hiatus after its winter finale set the stage without a major cliffhanger. The other half of Season 2 is said to return in January.
Before it officially went on hiatus, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) kicked off the network's massive four-show crossover event in "Supergirl" final episode in 2016 on Monday. Rumors are now rife that a romantic relationship may spark between Kara and Mon-El (Chris Wood) once "Supergirl" Season 2 returns.
When Kara of "Supergirl" Season 2 was told by her mother, Eliza (guest star Helen Slater), that the man from Daxam was attracted to her, Kara contradicted the thought saying it was ridiculous since she and Mon-El are good friends. She could not help but ask him if it was true, though. For some cryptic reasons, Mon-El denied the claim, making Kara guessing about his feelings.
Later in "Supergirl" Season 2, when the virus released by Project Cadmus that was meant to kill extraterrestrials almost killed Mon-el, Kara broke protocol at the risk of infecting herself and saved the man from Daxam by giving him a kiss. It turned awkward when he was healed as Mon-El couldn't remember anything.
Kara was left wondering if she had been reading too much from Mon-El's actions that she was starting to hallucinate. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg of "Supergirl" recently disclosed that they were not closing their doors on a possible romance between the two characters saying that it is possible since Kara isn't dating anyone in Season 2.
Meanwhile, "Supergirl" Season 2 spoilers suggest that the Dominators will track down Kara on Earth-38. Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg further said that the Dominators will return in the later episodes. It can be recalled that the Dominators were defeated by The Flash' new formed superhero team during The CW crossover special event but it doesn't mean that their alien race has been totally annihilated.
Catch "Supergirl" Season 2 Episode 9 titled "Supergirl Lives" on Jan. 16, 2017 on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates.
