"The military has to intervene because, especially in light of the transition between President Todd and President Haas, the military has to keep [control] while that loop is closing. They're the steady line, so we will see more of them. You'll definitely see them again in the next episode. Episode 9 is our big midseason premiere so it's got some big surprises in it," Safran said.
Safran also talked to The New York Times along with the creator of "Homeland" and "24" about the depiction of Muslims on television.
The showrunner cleared that he would never showcase a Muslim as a terrorist on "Quantico."
"For me, it was important to not ever put a Muslim terrorist on our show. There hasn't been one. This year we have the appearance of one - which is a spoiler. But it's not true."
"Quantico" Season 2 returns with second half of the season in January 2017.
