Apple made a huge mistake by prematurely announcing the Apple AirPods but failing to deliver. In the meantime, competitors such as Bragi's The HeadPhone is taking advantage of the delayed launch.
Bragi's The Headphone Was Available on Black Friday 2016
Newsweek wrote that the Apple AirPods made a large error by launching the iPhone 7 without the 3.5mm audio jack. The Apple AirPods was supposed to be introduced as the future of wireless earphones, but the initial model showed to be ridden with bugs, compelling a postponement in its production and official release.
Apple failed to take advantage of Black Friday 2016, where it could have distributed the new earphones to thousands of new users. Bragi's The Headphone, on the contrary, was available, and taken off the shelves by iPhone 7 users looking for a good alternative to the missing Apple AirPods.
9to5Mac stated that Bragi's The Headphone looks and feels slimmer than its predecessor, The Dash. The device is light and comfortable to wear for hours at a time and comes with three tip sizes.
According to the company, Bragi's The Headphone is sweatproof, although not waterproof. The device has audio transparency mode, which works well. Bragi's The Headphone also has Bluetooth pairing, which works well with the iPhone 7 or Mac.
Automatic pairing showed no issues, as long as only one device is available to link to. However, the earphones seem to have range limitations and automatic pairing is not as reliable with multiple devices.
Bragi's The Headphone's Value for Money
Bragi's The Headphone has decent sound quality. It offers good value for money compared to other Bluetooth headphones in the same price range. These sound better compared to the Apple EarPods, although there are still a number of earphones that provide far better audio. The mic was reliable for short calls in quiet environments.
Bragi's The Headphone can allegedly run for up to six hours on a single charge, although it will take about two hours to charge from zero percent. The charging case does not have a built-in battery to allow charging on the go, however.
At $149, Bragi's The Headphone is a decent alternative to the missing Apple AirPods. The AirPods, at $159, is expected to be the better product if it launches, because of its W1 chip, battery and charging case.
