Earlier this year CBS released a statement that all of its first-year shows will be given second-season offer. Obviously it didn't work out that way, but with "Supergirl" being renewed at CBS sister company, The CW, many "Limitless" fans were hoping that the show will have that same chance as well.
'Limitless' Season 2 Renewal, News & Update: Fans Still Hopeful For CBS Show, Starts Petition
Despite the the news that "Limitless has already reached its limit at one season, "Limitless" fans were given hope following reports that "Limitless" Season 2 was being shopped to other outlets to continue the TV show. The two major outlets that were being considered to pick up "Limitless" Season 2 were Netflix and Amazon.
Unfortunately, even with a good cast and an already established title, "Limitless" was not picked up by Netflix and Amazon for "Limitless" season 2. Instead of accepting the show's fate, fans have been aggressively sharing their thoughts and frustrations in the comment sections of all the GamenGuide articles.
One fan even started an online petition for "Limitless" Season 2 to be picked up. The initial goal was just to reach 3,000 signatures, but after GamenGuide shared the petition site back in July, it has now reached over 35,000 supporters.
Basing on this petition site, the amount of love that "Limitless" Season 2 got in less than three months is very impressive. But no matter how hard the fans try to show their support for "Limitless" season 2, it seems like it's just falling on deaf ears.
