In 2014, a playable teaser of "Silent Hills" was released for PlayStation 4. It was from Kojima Productions in collaboration with "Death Stranding" director Hideo Kojima and "Pan's Labyrinth" Guillermo del Toro. It uses the Fox Engine featuring actor Norman Reedus.
The playable teaser of "Silent Hills" has been downloaded more than a million times and has been viewed 30 million times across all platforms. However, fans were disheartened on the next year when "The Devil's Backbone" director announced that he will no longer be involved in the "Silent Hills" with Hideo Kojima, who also announced he is leaving Konami Studios.
On April 2014, Konami confirmed that "Silent Hills" was cancelled and the playable teaser was pulled out from the PlayStation Store. To date, fans are still waiting for an official announcement that Hideo Kojima's creation will soon hit the gaming world.
