Telltale Games confirmed at The Game Awards 2016 that is developing the "Guardians of the Galaxy" game, as previously rumored. The "Guardians of the Galaxy" game will be spread out over five episodes, with the first launching in 2017.
GameSpot cited Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner in stating that "Guardians of the Galaxy" will provide a greatly satisfying environment to explore. This will be done via their unique approach to interactive storytelling, combining teamwork, emotion, humor, sci-fi action-adventure.
In "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series," players can play several roles within the unique band of heroes, as well as lead their escapades around the universe. Telltale Games will be collaborating with Marvel and the best storytellers and creative partners in entertainment.
Techno Buffalo reported that Telltale Games first hinted that it was working on a "Guardians of the Galaxy" game in 2015, by saying that it is developing a title based on a Marvel property. Fans began speculating that the game developer was focused on "Guardians of the Galaxy" in November 2016, which turned out to be true.
Previously, Telltale Games delivered "Minecraft," "Game of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead" to fans, using the same mix of emotion, art and humor to showcase exciting adventures. "Guardians of the Galaxy" will follow the same pattern used in Telltale's "Batman," which divides the adventure into five chapters.
During The Game Awards 2016, the game developer presented the first trailer of the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" game. The storyline has not been revealed, although it seems that they will take on the tone of James Gunn's films.
The video did not share much, except for Star-Lord's infamous tape recorder and headphones floating in outer space. The main protagonist of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" game has not yet been revealed, although the trailer hints that at least Star-Lord will be present.
It would also be good if Telltale manages to have the movie actors voice their own characters. "Guardians of the Galaxy" will launch in 2017 for consoles, mobile devices and PC. More updates and details are expected soon.
