The world has finally seen the first clip from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" and it's all about Jyn Erso taking control. Felicity Jones' heroine certainly looks like she is set to tower over the upcoming "Star Wars" standalone film.
There's a good reason why fans already have high expectations in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" after seeing the first clip. Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso doesn't just take on a group of stormtroopers on her own. She actually defends Diego Luna's Captain Cassian Andor and injects some humor in the scene through Alan Tudyk's K-2SO.
Felicity Jones Shares 'Rogue One' First Clip On 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Kimmel'
The star of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was recently a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel", where she showed off some skills by disarming the host of his (toy) blaster. In addition to that, Felicity Jones shared the first clip from the highly anticipated "Star Wars" flick.
In the "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" clip, Jyn Erso, Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) are surrounded by stormtroopers but Felicity Jones' character doesn't even flinch. She immediately whips out her space-baton and teaches the group a lesson they won't soon forget. Jyn does all this in front of a wide-eyed Cassian, who is clearly impressed with her skills.
The first clip from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" doesn't just show off Jyn Erso's inherent badassery. The scene ends with Felicity Jones' character attacking an Imperial droid and stopping when she realizes she might have killed K-2SO. Luckily, Cassian's sidekick happens to be standing behind the unfortunate droid.
Is 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' Better Than 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'?
There are already several comparisons between "Rogue One" and "The Force Awakens", especially since Jyn Erso appears to be a more rebellious, wisecracking version of Rey. However, the first "Star Wars" anthology film appears to stand apart from "TFA". The comparisons might be there, but there is little doubt that Felicity Jones and the awesome band of rebels are set for a completely different movie.
