A number of players acquired their copies of "The Last Guardian" in advance of the official launch on Dec. 6, 2016. The physical and digital file sizes of "The Last Guardian" were recently revealed.
'The Last Guardian' File Sizes
PlayStation Lifestyle reported that the physical copy of "The Last Guardian" has an install size of 15GB. The digital version has a file size of 11.9GB in North America, and 12GB in Europe.
The download size is also expected to be bigger if another update launches before the main launch of "The Last Guardian." The new update is expected to provide minor enhancements in performance, 4K PlayStation Pro support, and HDR support.
SegmentNext stated that based on a leaked image revealing the back of the physical copy of "The Last Guardian," players need at least 15GB of free hard drive space. The required space is actually low, considering how most games now require at least 45 to 50GB to install successfully.
The photo also hinted that "The Last Guardian" may not be available on PlayStation 4 Pro upon launch, due to the absence of a PlayStation 4 Pro logo. However, support for the new console may follow at a later date.
The Media Kit Letter and Plot
The media kit for "The Last Guardian" features a letter written by game designer Fumito Ueda. He stated that the much-awaited game was in development for a long time, and that it was originally slated for the PlayStation 3, but will now be launched for the current-generation PS4.
Ueda added that "The Last Guardian" will be a very unique action adventure game. The title was developed by Team ICO and the makers of "Shadow of the Colossus."
In "The Last Guardian," players will take on unknown dangers in a strange and mystical place. The young main protagonist and his huge flying companion have to depend on each other to take on the challenges and threats and survive in the dynamic story of trust and friendship.
According to Ueda, "The Last Guardian" should never miss the ending. More updates and details on "The Last Guardian" are expected soon.
