The wait is almost over. "X-Men Blue and Gold" will finally arrive in 2017 and they'll be sporting their own team colors. What Marvel has dubbed "ResurrXion" is to premiere its two titles, "X-Men: Blue" and "X-Men: Gold," on April 2017 and each team gets to have its own directions and distinct identities. This ought to make longtime "X-Men" fans excited and nostalgic at the same time.
"X-Men Blue and Gold" Details: Which Mutants Are Blue?
"X-Men: Blue" will be composed of the original five X-Men: Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Iceman and Jean Grey. The book will be written by Cullen Bunn, who currently helms the "Uncanny X-Men," with art by Jorge Molina, reports IGN. "X-Men Blue and Gold" will have some twists that will delight fans and on "X-Men: Blue," the team's greatest enemy, Magneto, will be their mentor instead of Professor X, who is apparently dead.
"He almost takes the role of a Professor Xavier for the original five here. That's really what I thought was interesting... is that Magneto is the oldest enemy of these X-Men," said Bunn In a phone interview with IGN. "X-Men Blue and Gold" teams each has a head, and "Blue" will see Jean Grey taking the lead.
