We all know that there will be "The Good Wife" Spinoff and it's been officially confirmed that tit is titled "The Good Fight." Christine Baranski will return as Diane Lockhart, her character in "The Good Wife." Other returning characters are Lucca Quinn who is portrayed by Cush Jumbo and Marissa Gold, who will be reprised by Sarah Steele.
According to Deadline, aside from its powerful female cast, Gary Cole will also be returning for "The Good Wife" spinoff. Gary Cole played the role of Diane's husband, Kurt McVeigh, from the original TV series. It is also possible to see Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies, so that the writers can provide a closure and a glimpse of Alicia's life after a year when she left that back hallway.
According to E! News, Robert King said about Julianna coming to the show as a guest, "It's difficult only because you don't want to taint something that felt complete to us." He also added that Alicia's story will focus on the continuing future and not about the past. Other "The Good Wife" veterans who will reprise their roles for the spinoff are Jerry Adler and Zach Grenier.
Aside from the returning characters from the original, "The Good Wife," the main cast will also include new faces such as Game of Thrones actress, Rose Leslie who will play Maia, a young lawyer and Diane's goddaughter. The Chicago actor, Delroy Lindo, will play the role of Robert Boseman.
The latest addition to the newbies is The Hangover actor, Justin Bartha who is set to play as Colin, a highflier in the State's Attorney's office. He is set for the romantic lead role being the most eligible bachelor in Chicago.
The story will revolve around a huge financial scam that shattered the reputation of Maia, a young lawyer, while Diane, her godmother, and mentor, had her savings wiped out at once. Since they were out of Lockhart & Lee, they have to work with Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago's distinguished law firms.
With the actors and actresses from the original series plus the new and interesting characters, the 10-episode spinoff, "The Good Fight", will begin a year after the events of the finale of the "The Good Wife." CBS announced the air date of the first episode on February 2017. Then, the series can be watched exclusively in CBS All Access.
