"Red Dead Redemption 2," the beloved open-world Western from Rockstar Games, will join the PlayStation Now Lineup on Dec. 6, the company announced today.
Both Red Dead Redemption and its Halloween-themed zombie expansion, Undead Nightmare, will be available to play on Sony's full-game streaming service. They debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May and October 2010, respectively.
The news makes good on a promise from the week Rockstar announced "Red Dead Redemption 2" in late October, when Sony said that the original game would be released soon on "PlayStation Now." The service is available on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, which means that Red Dead Redemption will be playable on PC - if only through PS Now.
"PlayStation Now" allows PS4 and PC users to play full PS3 games without downloading them; Sony streams the game to the device in question. It is a subscription service that costs $19.99 per month or $44.99 for three months, with a library of more than 450 games available on demand.
It's worth noting that people who own an Xbox One and "Red Dead Redemption" can play the game at no additional cost on that console - it joined the console's backward compatibility program in July. And those folks can play the game on a PC as well, thanks to the feature that allows for "Xbox One" games to be streamed to a Windows 10 device.
