"Outlander" Season 3 is coming, and fans couldn't get enough of spoilers and new information. Co-executive producer Matthew B. Roberts had just posted a preview of the script in his Twitter account. However, new leaked photos surfaced that worried fans with the show's deviation from the novel.
Show Deviating from Novels?
The leaked photos of the "Outlander" Season 3 set featured the anticipated reunion of Jamie and Claire after twenty years of separation. Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe portray the roles, respectively. They had been reunited in a print shop.
What concerns the fans though is a minute detail. In the posted script, it says "Jamie enters." The novel, however, says that the character is already inside the establishment long before Claire arrives. Roberts then replied to the concerned fans, playingly saying that they seem to not trust him. He then urged the "Outlander" Season 3 fans to be calm and "Print Shop On."
With the current total of 29 episodes in the two seasons of the show, Roberts hoped that the team had built goodwill and trust among the fans of "Outlander" Season 3. He also reminded the eager fans of "Outlander" Season 3 that creating theories and guessing the future of the show will only worry them unnecessarily.
What Happens in the Book
"Outlander" Season 3 is based on the novels authored by Diana Gabaldon. Here, though, it was only after Jamie and Claire had already settled in the United States that Jamie and Brianna meet. This was the supposed order of events as depicted in "Drums of Autumn," the fourth novel in the series.
Brianna also took her trip through the stones, right after she stumbles upon a newspaper clipping stating that Jamie and Claire had died in January 1776. She then locates her parents, and eventually finds out she is pregnant with an unknown father. "Outlander" Season 3 attempts to stick to this plot, but creative differences is inevitable.
"Outlander" Season 3 is slated to be released on April 2017. So, fans just have to wait and see how the production team handles the story development.
