Perhaps one of Apple's highly anticipated desktops scheduled for release next year is the iMac 2017 and so far, there is still no official news about the iMac 2017's delay. Recent news states that Apple tends to delay the iMac 2017 due to the company's indecisiveness as what processor to feature for the desktop.
iMac 2017 speculated processor
Supposedly, the new iMac were slated to be released this year, but with three of the following events of the Cupertino-based company that was held, there were no signs of the anticipated desktop. However, there is news that the iMac will make its debut in 2017 along with a new processor.
According to speculations, the iMac 2017 will feature an Intel Xeon processor in its release as the said processor is a more common processing chip for high-end workstations and servers. The Intel Xeon processor is extremely powerful that it can enhance the desktops performance and can also support error-correcting code memory.
Meanwhile, there are also other reports that the iMac 2017 will still be powered by the Skylake processor. The said report states current iMacs are powered by the Skylake processor and Apple intends to reuse the processing chip.
However, that will not be the case of the iMac 2017 as the fans would be furious if Apple release the iMac 2017 without a new processing chip for the new desktop. Also, Apple reusing products is unlikely unheard of within the company's expertise.
Furthermore, the normal release dates for iMacs has always been in the Fall of each year with the first desktop released on November 2012, while the 5K display iMac was released on October 2015. Thus, a Fall release for the iMac 2017 will most likely to happen next year.
For now, fans will just have to be patient for Apple to make an official announcement regarding the iMac 2017 release date. For more iMac 2017 news and update stay tuned to Gamenguide!
