Earlier this month, a lot of speculations are all over the internet with the release of the next iPhone series - the introduction of three iPhone 8 models with an edge-to-edge screen display, wireless capable charging, and a glass casing. And just recently, a curved OLED screen is added to the list of features to anticipate in the upcoming iPhone 8.
In the report of The Wall Street Journal, Apple has requested its Asia suppliers to produce more quantities of the organic light emitting diode (OLED) display. Hence, the reason for the curved screen prediction.
OLED is a technology that may enable the curved screen. However, Apple is still considering about ten other prototypes so a curved screen may not still be guaranteed in the release of next year's iPhone 8.

Just this September, Apple has received a lot of criticisms with the release of its latest iPhone 7 since many of its fans complained that the latest iPhone is strikingly similar to its predecessor iPhone 6s and is already far behind to its competitors' smartphone features.
Given this, Apple is already under pressure to release a model that will hit the market to commemorate the iPhone's 10th year anniversary this 2017.
According to 9to5Mac, Nikkei Asian Review also has the same prediction with a possible curved OLED display. In a statement released last August, they said that Apple will release 4.7inch and 5.5inch models with screen bent on two sides.
Meanwhile, if the OLED curved screen turned out to be true, analysts estimate that the next iPhone might be more expensive than its usual pricing as the additional manufacturing costs of OLED could be up to $50.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 8 in September 2017. Given the rumored features mentioned, are you willing to shell out more money for a brand new iPhone 8?
