Finally, the latest operating system for Android smartphones and devices is coming to Nexus this December 6.
Just earlier this month, Google officially introduced the newest OS Android 7.1.1 Nougat which has been running on Pixel phones and other smartphones thru developer previews during that time.
At last, Android 7.1.1 is expected to be available to its Nexus users this coming December 6 according to Vodafone Australia. In the article released, the update will include a security patch which will be available on December 5. They also reminded its users on what to do prior to installing updates such as backing up the important data such as photos, messages, contacts, etc. and ensuring that the smartphone's battery is full to avoid interruptions in downloading the update.

In the report IBT, the updated Nexus devices will have a Gboard functionality which allows its users to insert and add GIF's to their chat boxes. However, unlike iPhone's iOS that still requires the third-party developers to support their app. Additionally, Android 7.1.1 will include new emojis featuring a wider range of professions for men and women.
The 650MB Nexus update will be rolled out to over 10,000 devices from December 6 to 9. Another 10 percent of its devices will be qualified for update between December 9 to 22, and from December 23 onwards, all Nexus devices will already be eligible for the enhancement.
The Pixel and Pixel XL are also scheduled to receive Android 7.1.1 along with other Nexus devices this December. Aside from the bug fixes for few issues, the Pixel update is going to include the "double tap to open the phone" and "lift to check the phone".
To check for the official update on your smartphones and other devices, just go to Settings and select System Updates. If you can't wait any longer, you may download the preview for Android developers' app.
