Cigar-smoking Communist revolutionary the longtime Cuban leader Fidel Castro died last November 25, 2016 in Havana on at the age of 90. Hours after his death Obama announced saying extensions a hand of friendship to the Cuban people.
Fidel Castro has been the Prime Minister of Cuba since 1976 and remained in that position until 2008 when he became the Cuban President. He handed down his power to his younger brother Raul when became ill, but he remained a position as First Secretary of the Communist Party until 2011.

An editor of a Hispanic newspaper La Guia Gratuita in West Palm Beach, Mirta Luaces said Fidel Castro's death is still significant until nothing has changed.
