Fans of "Game of Thrones" will surely raise their medieval goblets as HBO is planning to launch an official collection of wines inspired by Game of Thrones. The special wine collection is named Seven Kingdoms and is set to be released this coming spring in an advanced premiere of "Games of Thrones" 7.
HBO made an exclusive partnership with Santa Rosa- based winery named Vintage Wine Estates, which mainly covers almost all vineyards from Sonoma West up to the Napa Valley. The collection includes a Cabernet, Chardonnay, Sauvignon and a red blood that is inspired by Tyrion Lannister.
According to Jeff Peters, the director of retail and licensing for HBO, "Given the prominent role of wine on Game of Thrones and our previous success in the beverage category, an officially licensed wine for the show feels like a natural extension for our fans." True in every way, wine has been part of the show's most memorable moments. From the Red Wedding to Tyrion's memorable drinking related scenes.
Back in 2014, several Australian winemakers created a wide range of wines that are associated with the "Game of Throne's" feuding families. Red wines created included in The Wines of Westeros Collection are associated with the houses that are considered to be headstrong and robust, while white wines are associated with the cunning families in the epic saga. The Game of Thrones wine collection will most like feature different blends of chardonnay, reserve-style cabernet sauvignon, and the red blend, which is scheduled to be released in March 2017, International Business Times reported.
According to Screen Rant, HBO and Ommegang Brewery's partnership in releasing Game of Thrones beer was a successful precedent, considering the fact that wine consumption is very much prominent in the show.Fans will surely be excited with the Wine Collection release as the latest season will be launched a bit later than usual. "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is set to premiere in Summer , 2017 exclusively on HBO.
