"Quantico" Season 2 has just aired its midseason finale, which shocked the audience with a surprising twist in the end. It could be noted that the show has not been doing well in the ratings, which gave viewers a hint that it might be canceled soon.
It is a very usual fact that most TV series with low ratings would eventually be stopped. This rumored cancellation has been fired up when ABC moved "Quantico" Season 2 to another time slot. According to Variety, the action series will be moving to a different time slot when it returns for the second half of the season on Jan. 23.
The writers of "Quantico" announced that the new "Quantico" Season 2 will be on Monday nights on ABC. The series previously airs every Sunday night. "Quantico" has not experienced this kind of low ratings when it first premiered. The action series initially garnered a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographics. This was considered to be one of the strongest premieres on ABC.
However, "Quantico" Season 2 failed to meet the expectations of the viewer when it premiered. From 2.3 in the season 1's premiere, it dropped to 1.6. A very serious drop for ABC which signifies that the series could get canceled.
Because of its recent drop in ratings, there are also speculations that "Quantico" Season 2 will be the last of the series. On the other end of the spectrum, the production is trying to keep it all together by releasing a shocking revelation during its midseason finale.
This could be a strong sign that ABC is still hopeful for the show. According to Seattle Pi, Ryan(Jack McLaughlin) returned during the "Quantico" Season 2 winter finale and was revealed as one of the terrorists. Not only that, but Alex (Priyanka Chopra) was also sent to prison. Is there still a hope for a "Quantico" Season 3? Share your thoughts below.
