It's been revealed by publisher Deep Silver that not only will Saints Row IV come with a Season Pass to offer players all the extra goodies, but part of it will be the same..."bonus" that is keeping the game out of the world down under. Figuratively speaking that is.
Among other things, the coveted and smelly "Rectifier" anal probe weapon, the reason the game was given a "Refused Classification" listing in Australia, will indeed be a part of the game's Season Pass. The game was said to be in the process of being reworked to remove the probe so it could be re-submitted for an Australian release. No word yet on if a Season Pass will be offered for the adjusted version, or what it might include, but at least they could still get the wub-wub gun and drop the bass.
A press release described the weapon as an "aid" of sorts, "which will help you, the President of the United States, get the 'inside' information from your enemies as you save Earth from a dangerous alien infestation." That's a nice bit of table turning right there.
Apart from the browntown device, the Season Pass will also offer:
- the recently mentioned Enter the Dominatrix DLC, "a tongue-in-cheek vision of what this content was originally going to be like, along with a second mission pack coming in late 2013."
- two brand-new missions.
Saints Row IV sees players who have gone from taking control of the streets to now ruling the entire country as the Commander in Chief. Instead of common gangsters, players now must fend off an alien invasion with little more than a wide range of presidential super powers like flight, super speed, telekensis, ice blasts, and of course, dick jokes. Easily the most realistic premise in gaming, but then again, this is a series that popularized the concept of smacking people with a giant, purple, dildo bat.
Gamers can grab the now gold game's Season Pass for $9.99 when it hits store shelves in North America on August 20. It will be playable on the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.
