Shantel VanSanten confirmed in an interview that she would love to be back in the series and reprise Patty's role. Barry Allen in "The Flash" Season 3 has been dead for decades and is set to return and face the series main villain, Savitar.
Knowing more of Savitar's background in "The Flash" Season 3, as he call himself the god of Speed. Mark Waid and Oscar Jimenez was the creator of the main villain, and has small appearances on the comics. Savitars real name is still unknown. Hypable wrote that Savitar's life started while he was riding on his jet and the plane was struck by a lightning that made him fell down in a hostile territory.
From then on Savitar discovered he had powers of moving at a super speed which made him decided to name himself after the god of motion, Savitr. Then he focused his life on studying more about speed on how to improve and develop his power.

Meanwhile, Shantel VanSanten's return for "The Flash" Season 3 has great possibility. According to reports, it was remembered that Shantel was last seen in Season 2 which entitled "The Reverse-Flash Returns." Barry decided to end up with her in order to protect her from the villain named Zoom. Patty in return left their city and started a new life there without Barry.

In addition to Savitar's discoveries in "The Flash" Season 3, is that he knows how to steal those speed powers from other speedsters. His greediness of power turned him into the head of the speed cult which gained him many followers. Savitar sought every speedsters he knows.
