Avid fans of the HBO series "Game of Thrones" have been eagerly awaiting its return to the small screens. Latest spoiler news teased of how The Mountain will die in the TV series, according to cast member Hafþor Julius Bjornsson.
Many "Game of Thrones" characters already met their demise in various ways over the HBO show's six seasons. However, one of the series' formidable warriors Ser Gregor Clegane, portrayed by Bjornsson, may be a tough character to beat.
Known as The Mountain, the character possesses an immense strength and great fighting abilities. Loyal to Cersei (Lena Headey), the mostly quiet soldier is one of the new Iron Throne ruler's dangerous allies.
Recently, Bjornsson shared his speculations on how his character will die in the HBO series. In an interview with Express, the Icelandic actor commented that The Mountain may potentially die prior the end of "Game of Thrones."
With the speculated battle between Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Cersei, The Mountain may likely end up being killed by a dragon, according to Bjornsson. He even suggested the said plot line to the HBO series' showrunners.
The actor shared, "If I die, I really hope I get killed by a dragon at least. It's a good way to go. If the dragon is going to eat my head or something."
However, Bjornsson remained tight-lipped about plot details for the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 7. He also mentioned that he has no idea of how the story of beloved characters will play out in the HBO series' new season.
Meanwhile, HBO released a few snapshots from "Game of Thrones" Season 7 as part of the cable network's "Coming in 2017" preview. Aired on Nov. 27, Sunday, some fans captured screenshots of the said clip, as obtained by the fan community, Watchers on the Wall.
